Westport is one of the original Cocktails in Care Homes parties, where we piloted the project here in 2010.
Parties here are often very lively with our Party Managers passionate about the importance of an inspiring playlist to keep the dance floor going! Music tastes are eclectic here and we enjoy everything from rock and roll, to reggae and dance hall! We also enjoy a good catch up with the residents over a rum cocktail – one of the most popular drinks at the parties!
Westport is a nursing home run by Excel Care and is situated in the borough of Tower Hamlets.

Leanne says“I am an occupational therapist by day, working in early intervention for psychosis, and wanted a volunteer role with older people to challenge my preconceptions around ageing. Cocktails in Care Homes is proving a brilliant way to do this. I’m pretty new to it but really enjoyed both of the parties I’ve been to so far. I knew I’d love it as soon as I walked in to my first party to ladies dancing around their rollator frames – this was before we’d even started to set up! One evening a month is a small commitment and so much fun, the clients, staff and volunteers are all so friendly that the time really flies.”
