Silk Court is one of the original care homes that we piloted Cocktails in Care Homes. (That’s a lot of Cocktails!) In 2015-17, Silk Court was one of four care partners in our Artist Residencies programme, where residents worked with Upswing – one of the UK’s leading contemporary circus companies. We have made many memories with residents and care staff over the years through different projects. Silk Court is the closest care home to the Magic Me office in Bethnal Green, and we often enjoy delivering our décor for this party in person, while we are out and about in the community! Highlights from past parties include when our volunteer teachers from Elizabeth Selby School brought their pet chicken Marshmallow along to the party, who stole the show! The chicken has since become the star guest.

Our Party Manager at Silk Court is Paul!
Paul says “I invited Phoebe and Sarah from the Cocktails team to run an induction session for students at Queen Mary. I thought it sounded really cool so I went along too and I’ve been going to cocktail parties ever since. I love seeing the residents at Silk Court every month, especially those who I remember from my first visit. They really have become my friends. We chat, laugh, drink and dance. There is no other way I would choose to spend my evening!”
