George Mason Lodge – Leytonstone

Share

We have been running parties at George Mason Lodge in Leytonstone since 2013.

The big party room can fit a big crowd! Party Managers Clare and Lesley are passionate about organising exciting custom themes for this party – to coincide with exciting dates in resident and care staff’s calendars. A recent highlight is a Jamaica theme party in Summer of 2018 in anticipation of a care staff member’s daughter’s wedding, taking place Jamaica later that month! George Mason Lodge also has a resident band who are known for impromptu performances.

George Mason Lodge is a nursing home run by Waltham Forest Council and is situated in the borough of Waltham Forest.

Our Party Managers at George Mason Lodge are Claire and Lesley!

Claire says “I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the residents at George Mason who are lovely and it’s such a happy place. There’s always a mix of familiar faces and newcomers to enjoy the party with and fascinating life stories to listen to. I love the Cocktails in Care Homes events because it’s such a flexible way to volunteer if you have a busy life – one hour a month is easy to schedule in and so rewarding; I think I get as much out of the conversations I have with residents as they do. The staff at the home are also amazing, they make all the volunteers so welcome and always get into the party spirit with us. We love a theme so each party has decorations, drinks and food tied to the time of year. We’re just round the corner from Leytonstone tube, so very easy to get to- please do join us!

Lesley says “I started to volunteer with Magic Me after seeing an advert locally for volunteers. I took early retirement in September 2015 and have enjoyed nearly every party since. Claire is amazing and where I get my inspiration and energy from. I bounce off the staff and start planning the next party the day after the last. Life is about living every day and if it means giving back I’m first in the queue.”
