We are very pleased to share that Susan Langford, our wonderful founder, has been nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2027 National Activity Awards.
With nearly 40 years of pioneering work, Susan’s expertise and vision has changed countless lives. This nomination is very well deserved!
Ahead of the awards, our Co-CEO and Creative Director Kate Hodson said:
“Susan dedicated her working life to bringing creativity, connection, and innovation to care homes, and fostering meaningful connections between generations. She built intergenerational practice when it was not commonplace, and has dedicated her life to advocating for its impact and magic.”
When Susan first started Magic Me, the idea of bringing primary school children into care homes to co-create art was a very novel concept! Since then, she has transformed that idea into a recognised, evidence-based field of practice.
Susan’s belief that care homes can and should be creative spaces led her to develop a range of flagship initiatives, from artist’ residences and creative cocktail parties in care homes, to intergenerational school projects to challenge ageist assumptions and build meaningful relationships.
