Stepney Stories brought together children from John Scurr Primary School, Tower Hamlets with residents from Hawthorn Green Care Home, Tower Hamlets.

Together this intergenerational group of 20 participants (10 older, 10 younger) worked with Magic Me artists Surya Turner a storyteller, and Polly Beestone, a puppeteer, over 10 weeks from May – July 2017 to explore individual and collective stories, and to create puppets to animate these tales.

The completed stories were be made into short films. These were shown at a final sharing event at Hawthorn Green sharing the work with wider audiences from school and care home communities including peers, family members, teachers, and care home staff.

A film about the project is online here. A selection of pictures showing the project can be seen here
