Our Christmas Wish List

I was able to express myself and get to know others through art.

– Young participant in our Creative Mix project

Last December, dozens of generous Magic Me supporters donated to our Big Give Christmas Appeal. The money we raised went directly to support hundreds of participants in our intergenerational arts projects. A huge thank you to all of you who helped pay for the paint, paper and people which made the projects happen.

We’re running a Big Give Fundraising Challenge again this year – will you join us?

Our ‘Intergenerational Creativity & Joy” appeal launches on 2nd December. For one week only, every pound you donate will be matched by the Childhood Trust and other generous supporters.

By supporting our Big Give 2025, you will bring the magic of the arts to younger and older people in our home community of Tower Hamlets, east London. Every penny donated will support our team of specialist artists, photographers, poets and puppeteers to work with mixed groups in regular creative workshops.

The need in our East London community has never been greater. Far-right action misinformation seeks to divide people from their neighbours. With your help we can work together with our communities to reconnect across generations, find joy in creativity, and share their talents and voices with audiences close to home and way beyond.

Please donate to Magic Me

To find out more about donations help support, take a look at our Annual Report from last year – our Creative Mix participants explored the creativity around feasting, we made a film about East End heroines, we listed to community conversations and helped people make a map of Tower Hamlets’ secrets and strengths.

One older woman said during our filmmaking project –

Amazing seeing how young people are today – how confident the girls were – it made me feel really happy. There are not a lot of opportunities for intergenerational things, that was one of the main reasons I joined – we need more otherwise it’s an “us” and “them” thing and we don’t understand each other.

We could all do with understanding our neighbours a bit better.

Support our Big Give appeal this year and you’ll help us spread connection, understanding and joy. Donate here!
