Maryam joined the Magic Me Traineeship in January 2023. Before this, she helped run a youth forum at Numbi Arts as a Community Arts Co-curator, working alongside other young creatives to collaboratively produce an intergenerational African Heritage podcast series and a mural in Bethnal Green showcasing the Somali-British boxer Ramla Ali.
Maryam has been working with young people since 2020 as an English teacher at a local tuition center. She has a passion for helping her local community grow through education and self-expression and enjoys spending lots of time in nature as inspiration for her own personal artwork.
