Join Magic Me in Creating a World Without Ageism!

At Magic Me, we envision a world without ageism, where everyone can enjoy their unique creativity and full potential. Our mission is to inspire change – for individuals, communities and systems – through extraordinary art, sparking magic between generations.
For three decades, we’ve pioneered intergenerational arts practices, crafting innovative projects in the vibrant borough of Tower Hamlets, east London, and been leaders in creative care home work in London and Essex. Our work transcends social boundaries, combats isolation, and builds a rich community tapestry of innovative work that transcends generations, ethnicities, faiths, and backgrounds. You can explore the wonders of our current and past projects and the myriad benefits they’ve brought to our diverse communities here.

Who Are We Looking For?

Magic Me is on the lookout for a dynamic Project Manager who shares our passion for building connections and bringing innovative community arts and creative care home projects to life. If you’ve previous experience as a project manager and you’re ready to embark on a journey of collaboration, creativity, and community impact, we want to hear from you. This role would suit someone who is comfortable taking ownership of projects and, with support from our programme director, can hit the ground running. Join our small yet mighty team, bringing fresh ideas and building partnerships with charity, arts, education, social care sectors and our wider community.

Full details of the role, responsibilities and remuneration see our detailed job pack here.

Why Join Magic Me Now?

Our 3 Year Strategic Plan, developed in response to our community’s evolving needs post-COVID, builds upon three decades of intergenerational expertise. Throughout the pandemic, Magic Me remained a beacon of connection, delivering innovative activities to combat social isolation and foster community bonds. In April 2023, Magic Me joined Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisations, marking a significant milestone in our journey. As we move into the second year of this new chapter, we’re recruiting for the role of Project Manager who will be instrumental in developing new initiatives and fostering relationships within our Tower Hamlets community, and deliver our established innovative creative care home work in Essex & beyond.
While this post is a 12 month fixed-term contract, we’re working hard with our funding partners to secure the necessary funds to make the post permanent as part of our drive to increase our reach and our impact.

What’s In It For You?

  • Exciting Challenges: Be part of a dynamic organisation at the forefront of intergenerational and care home arts, supporting Magic Me to achieve positive change and sustainable growth.
  • Impactful Role: Be a crucial part of delivering new intergenerational initiatives in Tower Hamlets responding to current need, and spearheading the development of our highly successful care home work in Essex to reach even more residents.
  • Diverse Collaboration: Work closely with our team, artists, and partners to co-design groundbreaking community arts projects.
  • Inclusive Environment: We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, and as part of our commitment to equality we’ve developed an organisational anti racism action plan which we’re in the process of delivering. We believe diversity enhances the relevance and quality of our work and we use a blind recruitment process – our panel does not see any personal details during the shortlisting process – to select the best candidates.
  • Hybrid Working: Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid working model, combining office and remote work to suit your preferences (we ask staff to be in the office a minimum of 50% of the time to support team collaboration).
