“It’s opened up another world for me”
Last December dozens of generous Magic Me supporters donated to our Big Give Christmas Appeal. Your kindness and gifts supported our artists to take sensory arts activities into care homes across London and Essex. Using light and shadow, colour and texture, older residents and staff transformed lounges and bedrooms into exciting new spaces, full of wonder and stories.

Will you join us this year?
Our ‘We’ll be Grand” appeal launches on 3rd December. For one week only, every pound you give will be matched by the Childhood Trust and other generous supporters. This year our appeal focus is on activities bringing generations together.
By supporting our Big Give 2024, you will bring the magic of the arts to younger and older people in our home community of Tower Hamlets, east London. Every penny donated will support our team of specialist artists, photographers, poets and puppeteers to work with mixed groups in regular creative workshops.
The need in our community has never been greater. The loneliness and isolation of the lockdown years has dented the confidence of our older and younger generations. With your help we can work together with them to reconnect with neighbours, find joy in creativity and share the talents and voices of these Grand people with audiences close to home and way beyond.

Younger and older women collaborated with Magic Me artists, sharing personal stories and dreams, creating moving footage of the struggles and achievements of women, past and present. One older woman said during the project:
“You are more than enough. If you have that at the back of your mind…then that gives you the energy to feel that you are also powerful. You can do something, and especially, you are helping the generation to come.”
