Volunteers Week 2019 – Celebrating our Volunteers: Nina

Share

It’s Volunteers Week 2019 and we asked some of our most regular party go-ers what motivates them to be involved in the Cocktails project. Thank you all for sharing your stories and for your commitment and dedication to Cocktails! Every single volunteer is important to us. We hope these stories will inspire you and if you are interested in volunteering with us check out our Volunteering section here.

Nina tells us about her time on the Cocktails project:
“I first heard about Cocktails in Care Homes on the BBC news. For the past year and a half I have mostly attended parties at 73 Mildmay in Dalston. I have many fond memories of evenings spent chatting and playing dominoes with the residents there. Recently I attended a party at Muriel Street Care Home in Angel as it is very close to my flat. It was a lovely party and we had a fantastic time singing Bob Marley classics. Attending the cocktail parties is not only rewarding but also a lovely way to spend an evening with people I would not otherwise meet. I am studying at King’s College London so I appreciate getting out of the student bubble and learning things from people with lots of life experience. I have had many heart-warming conversations and have gained much wise knowledge. My fondest Cocktails moment was the karaoke Christmas party at Mildmay where everyone joined in the singing.”

Thank you Nina! We couldn’t do it without you!
