About the Exhibition

Recipe for Belonging explores what it means to feel at home, connected, and part of something larger. Over the past six months, an intergenerational group of Tower Hamlets residents and Health and Social Care students from Mulberry University Technical College have come together monthly to share stories, reflect, and create art inspired by the theme of belonging.

Guided by community artists Arji Manuelpillai and Ruan Murphy, participants engaged in various creative practices—including printing, modeling, poetry, and storytelling—to express their personal histories and shared experiences. The resulting exhibition features a collection of images, poems, and artworks that celebrate community, and the diverse voices of Tower Hamlets.

About Creative Mix

Creative Mix is a three-and-a-half-year programme initiated by Magic Me, an intergenerational arts charity based in Tower Hamlets since 1989. The project aims to bridge generational gaps through creative activities and discussions, fostering understanding and connection among participants.

We extend our gratitude to Arts Council England for their support and to the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for funding Creative Mix.
