Wonderful Wednesdays - part of Quality Street Year 1
Every Wednesday a group of seventeen Year 3 students from George Mitchell Primary School have met with adults from Glebelands, a sheltered housing group in Leyton to explore ways in which different generations can come together to make, imagine and celebrate.
Generations United - part of Quality Street Year 1
Generations United brought together Year 5 boys and adults from Leyton Orient Walking Football Club for 6 weeks through April and May this year with sessions taking place at “The Hub” community space, Leyton Orient FC. Led by artists Ben and Surya the group explored themes of Games, Play and Football. This collaboration was an exciting new venture, bringing creative arts and sports together.
Our Celebration - Quality Street Year 1
Our Celebration is part of the Quality Street project. From March to June, an intergenerational group aged from 7-100 met at Albany Court sheltered housing scheme each week. Working with artists Chuck, Mia and Kathy the group explored the theme of celebration through photography, costume, framing, storytelling and making. Over the weeks they shared personal stories of celebrations, experimented with different creative processes and had a lot of fun!
Artists' Residencies in Care Homes Essex
Four cutting edge arts organisations: Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Fevered Sleep, Gecko and curious directive, are paired with four care homes in Essex run by Excelcare UK. The project is funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
Our Work With Schools
Magic Me connects schools with older people in their community through the arts. We work with Primary and Secondary Schools across Tower Hamlets, connecting students with local older people for mutual benefit.
