On Sunday 24 November from 2-4pm Glebelands Residential Housing Scheme in Leyton will open its doors to the general public as part of the Inside Out Festival.
Glebelands is at 33 Church Road, Leyton, London E10 5LY.
Residents of Glebelands have been working with local people to create collaborative artworks which will be on show on Sunday 24th November.
Led by local artist Hassan Vawda and artist Ben Connors the intergenerational group have been getting to know one another through creative making, conversation and community spirit throughout November.
At the exhibition visitors will be able to see a display of artworks inspired by cinema and the group’s own life stories. There will be collaged film posters imagining ‘If our lives were a film…’, storyboards and scenic models of the participant’s ‘movies’. Visitors will be able to explore cinema-inspired paintings made through experiments with light and projecting onto canvas, and the group’s exciting creations in clay and costume!
Inside Out Festival is a Magic Me project funded by the L&Q Foundation and by a grant from the Waltham Forest Borough of Culture.
