Are you, or do you know any experienced cyclists with their own bike and bicycle trailer that might be interested in supporting us on Wednesday 1st May?
This May, we will be taking part in the London-Wide ‘Age of Creativity Festival’. As part of the festival our
Cocktails in Care Homes project will be throwing ‘London Transport’ themed parties. All of our parties throughout the month of May will be receiving a theme box. Optional Creative activities corresponding with the theme will include Dressing-up activities, London Transport memory sharing sessions and Quiz games at the parties. Age of Creativity is a London-wide festival celebrating the range of age-friendly creative and cultural work taking place across England. This year’s festival theme is ‘Intergenerational’ which of course is what we do!
We thought it would be fun to celebrate cycling as a vital part of London’s transport system by using a bike with trailer to deliver two of our theme boxes (one to a party in Vauxhall and one to a party in Angel) and with the trailer decorated on the cocktails theme. The making of the decorations and the decorating itself will be the basis of our Get Creative event. Get Creative is a national celebration of creativity which aims to give everyone the chance to get actively involved in a creative event in their local area. As part of the festival we will be inviting local people to come along and create and attach decorations to the trailer (all of which will be temporary and designed to come off without leaving any marks!).
If this is something you’d be interested in, or can promote to other cyclists we would love to hear from anyone that has a passion for volunteering and would enjoy using their cycling passion to bring together people in the London community from all walks of life. Get in touch with sarahwatson@magicme.co.uk if you can help or would like more info – a bit more detail below:
We expect this will be a very rewarding event that will bring a lot of joy to all involved, your support in making this event a reality would be invaluable!
